LEGOS!!
His favorite thing!! After searching on the web, I gather some ideas to create a "Lego Olympics." He LOVED it! Since it was 2 weeks before the move, I keep food simple - rectangle pepperoni pizza to resemble a LEGO block, his favorite veggies and rance dip, mandarin oranges and a gorgeous cake in the shape of a blue Lego block!! So much fun!! Everything he got was a LEGO product and he couldn't have been happier!!
Ten days after arriving in Texas, he REALLY turned six!! :) Since he shares a birthday with my sister Terri (AND his great grandma Rosie but she is in Idaho), we drove 2.5 hours south to spend the weekend with her and her family. They have an awesome house on some land - a new trampoline, a playscape, a dog, and sprinklers - what more could the kids ask for!!
We celebrated his birthday at noon after they jumped in the trampoline with the sprinkler running for THREE hours!! (I tried it for 5 minutes and was wiped out!!) We served buttered pasta, barbequed chicken and his favorite vanilla cupcakes with "trusty blue sprinkles." Somewhere along the way, he learned that phrase "my trusty __" Makes me crack up!! That is an old man term!
He had a baseball theme of gifts - a glove, balls and a pitch back net. Now if only it would cool down enough so he could use it!?!?!
A WET cousin Lydia! :)
After everyone had a rest, and the mommies went to get coffee, we all headed to dinner at Japanese Hibachi restaurant to celebrate Terri's birthday!! :) Everyone LOVED it!! Quite the entertainment and REALLY good food!
